Trauma-informed Yoga Training for Adolescence

I teach yoga to various communities throughout eastern north carolina and would be honored to join you and lead you through a flow as you choose to take time for your wellness. i have taught at the Kinston community arts council, center for the aging, the pitt county detention center, the neuse regional library, and to students and Teachers across a variety of school settings. refer below to the pillars of my practice.

❋ Evidence-based Work

With my Master’s Degree in Psychology, I am well-versed in the research process and strongly believe research-backed practices should be available and encouraged for all. I use research as one of many tools in developing safe and effective yoga practices.

❋ Alterations and Variations

Yoga and mindfulness are tools that should serve everyone. There are several poses I either cannot access or do not feel good in my body on a given day. I offer several variations to each sequence and pose I teach, and celebrate when students honor their needs by altering their flow to best fit them.

❋ Yoga as an Accessible Tool

Though I teach yoga classes, most of my work centers around volunteering to provide yoga as a form of centering and grounding for a variety of people.

❋ Integrating the Arts

I often bring music, art, dance, theater games, and creative writing into my therapeutic work. Safety to express one’s self goes hand in hand with my yoga and meditation practice.
